The king of ski runs in Engadin
The Hahnensee run is one of the best slopes in Engadin. This black slope stands out thanks to its unique panoramic views and tranquil location.
As soon as you get on the Giand’Alva chairlift, your anticipation for the Hahnensee run will be building. The ascent to Giand’Alva is an opportunity to relax and take a moment to yourself. But once you get to the top, the view of the icy lakes of Upper Engadin will take your breath away. The next part, carving your way down the wide, open, steep slope is always a pleasure. This nine-kilometre black slope is named after the Hahnensee lake, which sits covered with a thick sheet of ice between the fir trees, just at the tree line. The final section takes you through a snowy, fairy-tale forest to St. Moritz-Bad. You can return to the Surlej valley station on the Engadin Bus.
Snow Safari
The Hahnensee run is part of the Snow Safari. It goes from the Furtschellas mountain station to Corvatsch, from there to Giand’Alva and then onwards to the Corviglia skiing area and to Piz Nair and Fuorcla Grischa.
