Palü glacier hike

Our tip

On the sun terrace at the Berghaus, you can enjoy a Marenda (that’s the local word for a snack) as you reflect on your adventure on Piz Palü.

Up close and personal with Piz Palü

This guided hike by the Bergsteigerschule Pontresina (mountaineering school) takes you to Piz Palü, the Cambrena gaps and the Pers Glacier, and provides fantastic views of the high Alpine landscape.

Starting from the Berghaus Diavolezza, this hike takes you to the left, around Piz Trovat. Once you are on the Pers Glacier, the route continues to the impressive Cambrena gaps and then goes onwards to the Crap Pers promontory, which is where you stop for lunch. Here, you will see the majestic and beautiful Piz Palü towering before you. After lunch, you continue on the Pers Glacier to the large lateral moraine and from there back to the Berghaus Diavolezza.
