Murtèl middle station – Alpetta – Surlej
The Alpetta restaurant is open in summer. A hike to the Alpetta is the perfect option if you are unsure about how the weather is going to turn out: it’s not too long, and you can look forward to drying out at the restaurant if needed.
The starting point for the hike is between the Murtèl middle station and the Alp Surlej chairlift. As your eyes fall upon the fantastic views of the lakes of Upper Engadin, the route will take you on a gently curving path to Margun Surlej. That is where you will find the cosy Alpetta restaurant. The sun terrace is truly inviting, and the Alpetta staff is always ready to spoil weary hikers with delicacies from the smoker. Once you have refreshed yourself, you continue with the larch forest section, which is the final section that takes you down to the Surlej valley station.
Please note: it is of course also possible to walk upwards.
