The Club 8848 challenge

Our tip

While you’re at it, stop for a quick rest at the Lagalb valley restaurant or the mountain restaurant before you continue the challenge.

How to become a member of Club 8848

Would you like to join Club 8848? Maybe you are just looking for a sporting challenge? Either way, you simply have to complete the Club 8848 challenge!

This challenge is all about the number 8848. You must cover 8,848 metres of vertical distance (the height of Mount Everest) to become a member of Club 8848. However, unlike Everest, you don’t need any mountaineering experience for this 8,848-metre challenge. All you have to do is go down the Lagalb run eleven times and complete the footpath between the mountain station and Piz Lagalb four times – all in one day, of course! At the end of the season, the new members will be immortalised on the membership board.
